As a preliminary for the Miss America Pageant, the Miss Point Mallard Pageant provides thousands of dollars in scholarships and prizes while recognizing Alabama’s brightest and most talented young women.  Many previous Miss Point Mallard’s have gone on to become Miss Alabama then Miss America.  Teresa Cheatham Strickland and Kim Wimmer won Miss Alabama Crowns while reigning as Miss Point Mallard.  Miss America 1995 Heather Whitestone, Miss Alabama 2004 Shannon Camper and Miss Alabama 2007 Jamie Langley received the honor after their year of service to Decatur.


Held each year during the Spirit of America Festival, the Miss Point Mallard Pageant draws thousands of spectators to this outstanding patriotic event...topped off with a spectacular fireworks show immediately following the crowining of the new Miss Point Mallard!
